This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Barnstable, MA - This week, all four groups of the Barnstable Fire Department took part in hands-on training sessions led by a representative from Allegiance Fire & Rescue for their newly acquired Engine 3.

The initial training offered members a comprehensive introduction to the apparatus, enabling them to familiarize themselves with its wide range of features, tools, and operational capabilities. Ensuring that every firefighter is confident and proficient with the new equipment remains a top priority before the engine is officially placed into service.

Training will continue across all groups, and once all personnel are fully prepared and the equipment is completely installed, Engine 3 will be ready to serve the community.

The department also extends its sincere gratitude to local residents for their ongoing support. Investments in essential apparatus like Engine 3 significantly strengthen the department’s ability to protect and serve, and such support is deeply appreciated.
