Firefighter survival skills were the main emphasis of the Cicero Fire Department's planned day and night training sessions in March.
Wall breaching, SCBA confidence drills, low-profile escape strategies, and firefighter bailout and self-escape techniques were among the training evolutions. These abilities are intended to equip firemen to work in hazardous and obscure situations.
During an exercise on March 12 at Station 1, members gained practical experience in controlled training circumstances by practicing these tactics.
