FORT ANN, NY — March 22nd — In honor of L. Blondin Sr.'s contributions to the department and the Fort Ann community, the West Fort Ann Vol. Fire/Rescue acknowledged his passing. According to officials, Blondin assisted with departmental activities and emergency operations when he was a member. In tiny departments, long-serving volunteers are crucial to maintaining preparedness, helping with training, and supporting daily operations.

His efforts are still a part of the department's history and current mission, according to fire officials. Members are still aware of how previous volunteers helped to establish and maintain the organization. Funeral plans were not made public right away. The community was requested by the department to remember his friends and family.
