SOUTH SALEM, NY — March 9th — At its Smith Ridge Road station, the Vista Fire Department held an apparatus review drill. Members received training on Utility 256, Engine 141, Engine 142, Tanker 4, Ambulance 84B1, Ambulance 84B2, and Equipment Placement, Function, and Operation. Members were able to strengthen their acquaintance with various units and refresh their knowledge thanks to the practical training.

According to officials, knowing the architecture of the apparatus is essential for effective response, enabling workers to find and use tools in an emergency. Additionally, cross-training on various vehicles promotes consistent operations on the scene and workforce flexibility. Maintaining preparedness and ensuring that members can function safely and effectively during incidents are two benefits of regular drills like this one.
