This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Foster, RI - Brush fire season has arrived. As temperatures rise and conditions dry out, the Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company has been actively preparing for the increased risk of outdoor fires.

This week, crews focused on brush fire operations, reviewing tactics, safety considerations, and effective suppression techniques. At the same time, other members worked on pump operations to ensure all apparatus are ready to perform at a moment’s notice.

Training like this strengthens readiness and ensures that responders can protect the community quickly and safely when a call comes in.

The department also reminds residents to use caution with any outdoor burning and to report fires immediately.
