Bernville Firefighters Train With New RIT-PAK Equipment

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On March 14th, Bernville Community Fire Company members trained with Mt. Pleasant Fire Company No. 30 to review how to use recently arrived Scott RIT-PAKs.

Although Bernville is not currently recognized as a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) company, the equipment was purchased to improve firefighter safety due to long response times from outside RIT companies.

During the training, firefighters rehearsed Mayday protocols, got hands-on experience with the RIT-PAKs, and went over scenarios involving the rescue and extrication of a downed fireman.
