Selkirk Firefighters Balance Marine Prep and Advanced Training in Busy Morning

Selkirk, NY - On 4th April 2026 Selkirk firefighters had a busy morning, dividing their efforts between seasonal preparations and advanced training. One group worked to launch the department’s fire boat and reinstall the boat dock, ensuring the marine unit is ready for water emergencies as the season begins.


Meanwhile, another group completed the final day of the NYS Truck Company Operations course hosted by Guilderland, sharpening their skills in essential truck company tasks such as ventilation, search, and ladder work.


Both teams contributed to strengthening the department’s overall readiness and ability to serve the community.
