Hackensack, NJ - The City of Hackensack Fire Department remained active in recent weeks, balancing emergency responses, community outreach, and training. Third Platoon members, along with Captain Nemeczek, attended a career fair at the Bergen Arts and Science Charter High School to speak with students about becoming professional firefighters. The department also hosted Bergen County Special Services for a station tour, assisted by Second Platoon personnel.

Crews continued seasonal training with drills on pump operations, rope rescue, and hoseline handling to maintain operational readiness. First Platoon members quickly extinguished a shed fire on Spring Valley Avenue, preventing any extension to nearby structures. Additionally, Captain Hilliard of the Fourth Platoon engaged with local youth by demonstrating what a fully geared firefighter looks like, helping strengthen community connections.
