NOXEN, PA — March 14th — The Noxen Community Ambulance Association and the Noxen Volunteer Fire Co., located at 3493 Stull Road, Noxen, PA, organized a Man vs. Machine rescue training course for local first responders. Instructors from Philly Tin Helmet Training, LLC, a team of special operations firefighters working in squad companies within the Philadelphia Fire Department, led the practical session.

Firefighters and emergency medical services practiced realistic rescue scenarios with individuals stuck in machinery throughout the day. Ring removal, fingers stuck in wheels, and arms stuck in mixers, rollers, and other industrial machinery were all part of the training. Additionally, crews practiced impalement and confined space rescue tactics. The training was attended by first responders from a number of nearby departments. On that day, members also went to a memorial service for veteran fireman Ralph McCormack.
