NORTHAMPTON, MA — March 8th — Truck 1 has been put into full-time duty by Northampton Fire Rescue, which is a significant step in increasing the city's capacity for rescue and fire protection. Now that the ladder business is manned around-the-clock, it offers more resources for situations such as structural fires and rescues. Ladder trucks provide search, ventilation, aerial access, and specialist rescue equipment to support fireground operations.

Full-time staffing of Truck 1 guarantees the availability of extra firefighters and equipment on the first alarm, enhancing response effectiveness throughout the city. The effort was backed by the mayor, municipal council, finance director, and citizens as part of ongoing public safety investments. According to department officials, the action improves the quality of service offered to the Northampton community and strengthens daily coverage.
