BOLTON, CT — March 24th — A regional training exercise on identifying and controlling complacency in the fire service was carried out by the Bolton Fire Department. Bolton crews were joined for the session by firefighters from Andover, Coventry, Hebron, and Columbia. The exercise went over how routine calls can lead to complacency and why firemen need to stay vigilant throughout every response. Participants talked about decision-making, situational awareness, and the significance of adhering to fireground safety protocols.

Coordination between departments that work together on structure fires, brush fires, and other crises was strengthened through joint training with mutual assistance partners. Tolland County departments routinely train together to guarantee a uniform and efficient response when several companies are sent out. The training emphasized the importance of ongoing education and collaboration in preserving firefighter safety and operational preparedness.
