WOODSTOCK, CT — March 11th — Chief Seney gave a training course titled "Back to Basics: Managing the Mayday" at the Bungay Fire Brigade, located at 1256 Route 171. Firefighter safety and the protocols for declaring a Mayday during an emergency situation were the main topics of the seminar. The evening training was attended by firefighters from the Pomfret Fire Department, Woodstock Volunteer Fire Association, and Muddy Brook Fire Department.

The role of command personnel and quick intervention teams in these high-risk scenarios, as well as Mayday communication protocols and firefighter survival techniques, were all covered by the crews. During mutual aid operations around the region, joint training helps departments retain common processes and improve cooperation.
