Lisbon Fire Department Highlights Essential Apparatus Training
Lisbon, ME - Before operating any department apparatus, every Lisbon Fire Department driver must complete a 16-hour Emergency Vehicle Operator course along with a 16-hour Basic Pump Operator course. These foundational trainings ensure personnel are fully prepared to safely handle fire trucks, engines, and other emergency vehicles in a variety of situations.
Recently, Lisbon firefighters participated in hands-on training exercises to reinforce these critical skills. The session included maneuvering apparatus in simulated emergency scenarios, operating pumps under realistic conditions, and practicing coordinated team responses.
This rigorous training ensures that operators are proficient, safe, and ready to respond effectively during real emergencies, reflecting the department’s commitment to both firefighter safety and community protection.
