Members of the Castleton Volunteer Fire Department's Ice Water Rescue Team were present on March 27th to provide safety coverage for the "Freezing for a Reason" fundraising event.

The Shriners arranged the event, which gathered money throughout the morning before participants braved the cold-water plunge at noon. Firefighters stood on standby to ensure the safety of everyone participating in the event.

According to department authorities, the fundraiser was well attended, and they praised those who organized and participated.

Members also praised the Shriners and everyone involved for hosting the event and supporting a worthy cause.
