Deep River Fire Department Honors Members at 2026 Banquet

Deep River, CT — March 19th — The Deep River Fire Department honored members for their service and accomplishments during its 2026 annual banquet.


Firefighter Peter DiNello (5 years), Firefighter and Secretary Christine Nowak (5 years), Firefighter Adam LeMay (10 years), and Firefighter Sarah Preston (15 years) were honored for their years of service. Additional milestones were recognized for Department Administrator Sarah LaPorte (20 years), Lieutenant David Wigg (30 years), Chief Tim Lee (30 years), and Lieutenant Tom Law (35 years).


Top Responder awards were given to Apparatus Driver and Trustee Rich Sypher (106 runs), Firefighter Rick Daniels (82 calls), and Fire Police member Howard Beardsley. Erin Lee and Noah Lee were the Junior Top Responders, both with 34 calls, and Erin Lee was voted Junior Firefighter of the Year.


Lieutenant Kevin Clark was chosen the 2025 Firefighter of the Year, while Colin Martel got the Chief's Award.
