On March 5th, members of the Hamden Fire Department's 3rd Platoon from Station 3 joined first-grade kids at Ridge Hill School to celebrate Read Across America Day.
Capt. Wood, Firefighter Jason Stevens, and Firefighter Chris Parmelee spent time reading with schoolchildren and discussing the significance of firemen in their communities. The tour allowed students to meet area first responders while highlighting the value of reading and education.
