Bristol Deputy Chief Named 2025 Firefighter of the Year

Bristol, CT — March 30— The Exchange Club of Bristol has nominated Deputy Chief Mark Martin of the Bristol Fire Department as Firefighter of the Year for 2025.


The award was given during a ceremony on Monday evening to honor Deputy Chief Martin for his 40 years of service and dedication to the City of Bristol and the Bristol Fire Department. Throughout his tenure, he has held various leadership positions while supporting fire suppression operations and department projects.


Deputy Chief Martin plans to retire in July after four decades of service. Department officials stated that his leadership and commitment have had a long-term impact on both the organization and the community.
