Bakersfield Fire Department Expands CPR Training Program

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

The Bakersfield Volunteer Fire Department has upgraded its training equipment to assist community education and disaster preparedness. The agency purchased multiple CPR training manikins and AED training equipment to aid in the teaching of life-saving skills.

Officials stated that the equipment will be utilized to deliver hands-on teaching to people and local groups interested in learning CPR and how to use an automated external defibrillator. Early intervention during cardiac emergencies can greatly enhance survival rates, making training opportunities a valuable resource for communities.

The department encourages community groups, organizations, and residents who want to learn these skills to contact the BVFD and schedule a training session.
