Foster, RI — March 5th — Engine company operations and equipment familiarization were the main topics of a training night organized by members of the Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company. A review of the tools, hose, and nozzle settings frequently utilized during fireground operations took place in the classroom at the start of the program. The rationale behind equipment selections, operational strategies, and firefighter safety procedures were also covered by the instructors.
Firefighters moved into the equipment bay for practical training with Engine 3 after the classroom session. The layout employed during reactions, tool pairings, and equipment positioning were all examined by the crews. While more seasoned members reaffirmed conventional operating practices, more junior members sought to become comfortable with the equipment. To stay prepared, volunteer fire units rely on frequent drills. This kind of training session ensures that crews are always ready to handle emergencies in the Foster community.
