This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

South Berwick, ME — March 17th — Multiple EMS calls that occurred simultaneously throughout the municipality were handled by the South Berwick Fire Department. As Ambulance 1 was taking its first patient to the hospital, other calls came in. South Berwick Ambulance 1 and York Ambulance A5 had already committed to other responses at that point. To guarantee a prompt response, Engine 1 was sent to handle the town's third ambulance call. In order to help with patient transport and coverage, a Dover Fire and Rescue ambulance responded on mutual assistance.

In order to handle the increasing number of EMS calls, departments in the region frequently collaborate through mutual aid agreements. According to South Berwick officials, the department's EMS program has grown as a result of ongoing community support, better meeting the rising demand for emergency medical services.
