Killingworth Fire Department Shares April Fools’ “Goat Team” Announcement

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

The Killingworth Fire Department made a funny announcement on April 1st, unveiling its "newest specialized unit," the Rapid Response Goat Team (R.R.G.T.).

According to the lighthearted note, the department's first responder goat, "Chief Nibbles," was characterized as assisting with brush removal around water holes, offering morale support during long calls, and having an exceptional ability to locate goodies nearby.

The post joked that residents might spot Chief Nibbles riding along on Engine 1 or attempting to climb ladders during responses. Community members were encouraged to report sightings, particularly around gardens. The department noted that if residents smell smoke they should still call the fire department, and if they see a goat wearing firefighting gear, they might want to call as well.
