Tiverton, RI — March 23rd — The Career and Technical Education (CTE) program at Tiverton High School is still supported by the Tiverton Fire Department in collaboration with the Tiverton Police Department. Students are exposed to several facets of public safety and the fire service through this curriculum. Captain Wells and the on-duty shift recently studied fire dynamics and behavior.

In order to demonstrate how fire spreads and how ventilation influences conditions inside a structure, the class included a live burn demonstration utilizing a "dollhouse" prop. Students in Mr. Phillips' woodshop class constructed the props. Students will learn the principles of fire investigation and scene examination in next week's course.
