York, ME — March 21st — Regular company training on firefighter CPR and apparatus operations was performed by York Fire Department personnel. Key CPR techniques employed during firefighter down events, including as synchronized compressions, quick assessment, and collaboration during resuscitation efforts, were examined by Firefighter/Paramedic Dufort. When the weather improved, personnel went outside for further practical exercises.

Firefighter Aidan Martin, who finished multiple pump operation exercises on Engine 4, benefited from the workout as well. Maintaining appropriate hose line pressure, running pump controls, and setting up a water supply were among the evolutions. Daily fire service activities continue to include regular training. To stay prepared for both fireground and emergency medical responses, departments keep reviewing CPR protocols and pump operator skills.
