March 25, 2026 — Emergency crews responded to a gas main incident that prompted the temporary shutdown of Route 151 after a line was struck, causing an uncontrolled leak. Authorities immediately closed the roadway to all traffic as a safety precaution while utility crews from National Grid worked to contain and repair the damaged line. During the closure, traffic was diverted to Old Barnstable Road to maintain access through the area. Fire personnel remained on scene to assist with traffic control and ensure public safety while the situation was brought under control. As of 1:30 PM, officials reported that Route 151 had been reopened to traffic following successful mitigation of the leak. No injuries were reported, and residents were advised to remain cautious while traveling through the area as crews completed final checks.
