March 9, 2026 — The Stratford Fire Department has placed 24 SEEK Fire Pro 300 Thermal Imaging Cameras into service, marking a significant advancement in firefighter safety and operational capability. With this deployment, every active riding position—including the Shift Commander and Training/Safety Officer—will now carry a thermal imager when operating in hazardous environments. These devices allow firefighters to see through smoke, locate victims more quickly, and identify hidden fire, greatly improving both rescue efficiency and situational awareness.

Department officials emphasized that this investment reflects Stratford’s continued commitment to prioritizing firefighter safety through the adoption of innovative tools and technology.

The department also recognized members who dedicated time to researching equipment options and who will lead the training rollout to ensure all personnel are proficient in the use of the new devices.
