The Chester Hose Company reported the death of former member Zigmund "Ziggy" P. Makuck on March 8th. Makuck, 87, was a lifelong Chester native who had previously served in the local fire department.

Makuck was well-known in the community as a professional painter with a lengthy history in Chester. According to his obituary, he liked motorbikes, hot rods, and playing guitar. According to family members, he liked spending time with friends and family and was very connected to the community throughout his life.
