On March 12th, the East Hartford Fire Department acknowledged a local youngster for his efforts to improve fire safety in his area.
Firefighters from Ladder 2 and Engine 5 drove Jaxon S. to Riverside Magnet School as a thank you for removing fire hydrants after a significant snowstorm in late February. After the storm, Jaxon took the initiative to shovel out hydrants throughout his neighborhood so that firefighters could access them in an emergency.
Connor Martin, Mayor of East Hartford, Connecticut, also visited Jaxon at the school to personally praise him for his efforts.
