Castleton, VT - On Sunday, March 15, 2026, the Castleton Volunteer Fire Department carried out its annual ice water rescue training and refresher exercise at Crystal Beach. Community members may have noticed crews actively training on-site throughout the day.

The department was joined by neighboring agencies, including Benson, Hubbardton, and Hampton, NY, in a collaborative effort to strengthen emergency response skills and coordination.
