Horse Rescued from Water in Coordinated Multi-Department Effort

Weatherfield, VT - The Weathersfield Fire Department responded to an emergency involving a horse trapped in water following a mutual aid request from the Bethel and Barnard Fire Departments, both of which are equipped with specialized large animal rescue gear.


Upon arrival, Weathersfield crews immediately began stabilizing the situation by setting up rope and pulley systems to support and position the horse, ensuring its safety until additional resources arrived.


Once personnel from Bethel and Barnard reached the scene with specialized equipment, crews worked together to successfully rescue the horse and safely relocate it back to its barn.


The operation concluded with no injuries, thanks to the coordinated efforts of all departments involved. The Weathersfield Fire Department expressed sincere appreciation to the Barnard and Bethel Fire Departments, as well as its own members, for their teamwork and dedication during the rescue.
