Alna Firefighters Participate in Training on Battery-Powered Extrication Tools

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Alna firefighters conducted a training session on battery-powered AMKUS rescue and extrication tools on Wednesday, March 4th. The department’s current hydraulic extrication equipment, which is nearly 20-years-old, is due for replacement, and members are considering an upgrade to electric-powered units. The newer tools were demonstrated as being easier to operate and more portable than the existing equipment. The department expressed appreciation to the AMKUS training team for presenting their latest products and spending several hours guiding crews through proper use and maintenance. Junior firefighters in attendance also benefited significantly from the training session.
