March 24: Members of the West Danby Volunteer Fire Department recently took part in joint training with the Danby Volunteer Fire Company and the Candor Fire Department. Meridian Fire Training Solutions LLC led the course, which focused on water and ice rescue operations.

Firefighters went through hands-on training to improve their skills for cold-water situations. The simulation covered rescue tactics, equipment utilization, and coordinated response strategies that would be required during accidents involving frozen waterways.
