Haz-Mat Teams Respond to Fuel Oil Leak in New Paltz

On March 8th at 17:05 hours, the City of Kingston Fire Department and the Ulster County Haz-Mat Team responded to New Paltz for a complaint of an odor and a suspected fuel oil spill near 16 Main Street.


While arriving, Kingston officials were informed by the New Paltz Assistant Fire Chief that an active leak had been discovered in a storm sewer and the Wallkill River. Kingston units responded with Haz-Mat 1, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation spill trailer, and a Zodiac boat.
