March 21, 2026 — The Audubon Fire Department responded to two separate vehicle-related incidents within hours of each other, keeping crews active throughout the morning. At approximately 5:50 a.m., Squad 1 was dispatched to the area of Atlantic and Oak streets for a vehicle that had left the roadway and come to rest on train tracks with one occupant still inside. Due to the vehicle’s unstable position, firefighters worked to stabilize it before safely removing the occupant without incident. Later in the morning at 10:47 a.m., Squad 1 and Quint 1 responded to the 200 block of South LeCato Avenue for a vehicle that had struck a residence. Upon arrival, crews found the vehicle had impacted the front of the home; however, all occupants had already exited prior to their arrival. No injuries were reported in either incident, and crews ensured both scenes were secured before clearing.
