March 3, 2026 — The Lewiston Fire Department is inviting community members to attend a free Car Seat Safety Event aimed at ensuring children are traveling safely. The event will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Lewiston Fire Station #4, located at 55 North Temple Street.

Certified technicians will be on-site to assist families with proper car seat installation and answer safety questions. Officials note that correct installation is critical, as studies show a significant number of car seats are not installed properly.

Residents are encouraged to sign up in advance to guarantee availability, though limited accommodations may be made for walk-ins during event hours.
