March 22, 2026 — Lake Mishnock Fire/Rescue members participated in several hours of hands-on training at a recently acquired structure scheduled for demolition, providing a valuable opportunity to sharpen critical firefighting skills in a realistic environment. Crews focused on advancing hose lines through interior spaces, performing hydraulic ventilation, and practicing VES (Vent, Enter, Search) operations, along with forcible entry techniques essential for rapid access during emergencies. In addition to interior operations, members involved in driver training gained practical experience operating apparatus pumps, reinforcing their readiness for real-world response scenarios. Department officials emphasized that training evolutions such as these are vital to maintaining operational effectiveness, ensuring firefighters remain prepared, adaptable, and ready to serve the community when called upon.
