March 3, 2026 — The Conway Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire on Stark Road after an on-duty police officer observed heavy black smoke in the area at approximately 10:55 a.m. Initial units, including Car 1, Car 2, and Engine 2, began searching for the source while the Conway Police Department deployed a drone, successfully locating the fire, which was determined to involve a structure. A first alarm was requested, bringing additional Conway personnel along with mutual aid from North Conway and Center Conway Fire Departments. Upon arrival, crews discovered a pole barn set back from the roadway that was fully involved, with fire extending into a nearby garage. Firefighters quickly deployed handlines and were able to knock down the bulk of the fire, likely preventing further extension to the adjacent structure. The fire was brought under control shortly before 11:30 a.m., with crews remaining on scene to extinguish hotspots. During the incident, the Madison Fire Department provided station coverage. No injuries were reported, and officials credited coordinated efforts and rapid response for limiting damage.
