The Raquette Lake Fire Department reported the death of longtime member Carol Bird Mitchell, who answered her final call on March 22nd, 2026. Mitchell spent many years serving both the agency and the Raquette Lake community. Department colleagues remembered her dedication and contributions to the organization during her tenure.
