MANHASSET, NY — March 7th — As part of its continuous fleet modifications, the Manhasset-Lakeville Volunteer Fire Department deployed new Engine 8752 to Company 5 on March 7. Engine 8756, which served the department for many years, is replaced by the new equipment. Before being reallocated within the department, that engine was used by Company 4 as Engine 8746 in the mid-to-late 1990s.
Larger water tanks, upgraded pumping systems, and better storage for firefighting equipment and hose lines used in structure fires and other emergencies are common features of modern fire engines. Engine 8752 will help Company 5 workers react to fires, alarms, and other emergency calls around the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire District, according to officials.
