On March 22, members of the Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department and the Mohawk International Raceway track safety staff participated in a specialized training session provided by DIRTcar Racing.

Seven members took part in hands-on training stations for racing track emergency response, which included vehicle extrication, frame cutting, race fuel fire suppression, and securely rolling a race car back onto its wheels. The training also allowed participants to exchange tactics and techniques with other safety teams.

At the end of the program, participants participated in a question-and-answer session with Stewart Friesen, who highlighted lessons learned from a terrible accident he was involved in last July.
