Nassau County Crossing Guard John M. Miro Remembered

BELLMORE, NY — March 6th — In honor of Nassau County Crossing Guard John M. Miro's passing, the Bellmore Fire Department joined the public safety community in Nassau County. By assisting pedestrians, particularly schoolchildren, in safely navigating busy roadways and intersections, crossing guards contribute significantly to community safety. In order to support traffic control and uphold safe circumstances close to schools and neighborhoods, they frequently collaborate closely with the Nassau County Police Department.


By lowering traffic risks, crossing guards offer a daily service that supports the operations of police, fire, and emergency medical services, according to public safety officials throughout Nassau County. Miro's years of service and his contribution to the safety of the community were recognized by members of the emergency services community.
