The Gates Volunteer Ambulance Service, Inc. has announced the death of Active Life Member Nancy Mauro, who served the organization for decades.

Mauro joined the agency on November 30th, 1978, and remained an active member of the service for many years. Although she later left field duty as an EMT, she continued to volunteer by staffing the dispatch office on Sundays and Thursdays.

Members observed that Mauro was a key part of the agency's daily activities and maintained a familiar and welcome presence at the station.
