Westerly Fire Department Celebrates Service, Awards, and Leadership at Annual Banquet

February 28, 2026 — The Westerly Fire Department gathered for its Annual Banquet, recognizing a year of service, dedication, and achievement among its members.


Top honors were presented to several outstanding members, including Mike Marconi (Officer’s Award), Sarah Britner (Dedicated Service Award), and Eric Fusaro (Firefighter of the Year), each recognized for their commitment, professionalism, and contributions to the department.


The evening also highlighted the department’s continued growth, welcoming seven new volunteer members and celebrating the return of two additional members, strengthening the organization’s future.

Special recognition was given to the top three members in total points for 2025: FF Dennis Algiers, Capt. Eric Fallon, and Asst. Chief Joe Fusaro, whose consistent performance in response, training, and service set the standard for the department.

A highlight of the night was honoring Retired Assistant Chief Louis “Jay” Trebisacci as Guest of Honor, recognizing nearly four decades of service and leadership within the department.


Officials from the Westerly Fire District and neighboring departments attended the event, reinforcing strong regional partnerships and shared commitment to public safety.
