March 10, 2026 — Members of West Greenwich Volunteer Fire Company #1 responded to a vehicle fire on Interstate 95 North, deploying Tanker 23 and Ladder 25 with a crew of seven volunteers.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a vehicle heavily involved in fire along the highway. Crews quickly stretched hose lines and initiated suppression operations to bring the fire under control while ensuring the safety of passing motorists.

Assisting agencies included LMFD Tanker 1, West Greenwich EMS (WGEMS), and West Greenwich Police Department (WGPD), who worked together to manage traffic, provide medical standby, and support fireground operations.

Thanks to the coordinated response, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and prevent further hazards along the busy interstate.
