Richmond-Carolina Fire District Supports Special Olympics with Super Plunge Participation

March 21, 2026 — Members of the Richmond-Carolina Fire District took part in the Super Plunge for Special Olympics, joining community members and supporters in braving cold ocean waters for a meaningful cause.
Firefighters participated alongside Honorary Chief Chris Sherman, demonstrating their commitment not only to public safety but also to community engagement and charitable efforts. The event brought together teams and supporters to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics programs.
The department also served as a Super Plunge Glacier Sponsor, further reinforcing its support for the initiative. Officials highlighted the experience as both a rewarding and impactful opportunity to give back while strengthening community ties.
