Burtonsville Rescue Squad Responds to Late-Night Vehicle Collision

Burtonsville, MD — February 20th — Late on Friday night, the Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department's Rescue Squad arrived at the site of a car accident to help the victims. When firefighters arrived, they secured the area, looked for injuries among the occupants, and evaluated the damage to the vehicles. In order to assess patients and make sure the route was safe for oncoming traffic, crews collaborated with emergency medical specialists. Scene control, hazard mitigation, and helping EMS with patient care were examples of standard procedures.


Montgomery County fire stations, where firemen are trained in vehicle stabilization, traffic management, and basic rescue operations, continue to receive a lot of calls from motor vehicle incidents. BVFD units cleared the location and resumed operations after finishing their duties and ensuring the area was secure.
