Ambridge Firefighters Honored for Life-Saving Actions at Towers Fire

March 10, 2026 — Ambridge Firefighters were formally recognized by the Ambridge Fire Chief, Borough Council, Mayor, and Borough Manager for their swift and courageous response to the Ambridge Towers fire that occurred on the morning of February 7. Assistant Chief Gorecki, Firefighter Turner, and Firefighter Miller were honored for their decisive actions in the critical early moments of the incident, where their life-saving efforts and rapid property preservation played a vital role. Working alongside Ambridge and Harmony Police officers, the firefighters responded within minutes and operated under dangerous conditions, putting their own safety at risk to protect residents and contain the fire. Additional support from mutual aid departments proved essential, with Beaver Falls firefighters performing CPR and crews from Sewickley and Harmony Township assisting in the rescue of a victim. Officials praised the coordinated efforts of all responders, highlighting the teamwork and professionalism displayed during the incident.
