March 11, 2026 — Gorham Fire & EMS recently completed its annual SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) flow testing, ensuring critical life-saving equipment remains safe and ready for use during emergency operations.
Fire Tech and Safety personnel were on site at the station to conduct the testing, which evaluates the performance and reliability of SCBA units under working conditions. Routine inspections like these are essential to confirm that air packs, regulators, and components function properly when firefighters depend on them in hazardous environments.
During their visit, Fire Tech and Safety also assisted neighboring departments, performing testing for Shelburne and Randolph Fire Departments, highlighting regional cooperation in maintaining firefighter safety equipment.
Annual SCBA testing plays a vital role in protecting firefighters by ensuring their respiratory equipment meets safety standards and is fully operational when needed most.
