Rochester, NY — March 12th — The Commission on Fire Accreditation International, a division of the Center for Public Safety Excellence, has granted the Rochester Fire Department international accreditation. The recognition follows a detailed evaluation of the department’s training, leadership, response capabilities, and service delivery. To ensure they fulfill nationally recognized standards for fire and emergency services, departments applying for accreditation must perform a thorough self-assessment and an impartial peer evaluation.

Rochester is one of 334 departments worldwide and one of just two in New York State with CFAI accreditation, according to officials. Additionally, the agency is one of 124 organizations in the US with both an Insurance Services Office Class 1 Public Protection Classification rating and CFAI certification.
