Greece, NY — February 24th — After 20 years of service to the department and the Greece community, firefighter Kevin Roethel, Badge #79, was acknowledged by the RRFD as retiring. For twenty years, Roethel responded to emergency medical, fire, and rescue calls throughout the district. In order to safeguard residents and support nearby agencies when mutual aid was needed, he collaborated with both career and volunteer staff while he was employed by the department.

To stay prepared for a variety of situations, New York firefighters regularly complete state-approved training in emergency medical care, rescue operations, and fire suppression. Roethel's years of consistent service, according to department officials, supported the district's everyday operations and emergency response coverage. Members commended him for his two decades of dedication to public safety as he was recognized for retirement.
