Rochester, NY — February 28th — Members of the Hilton Fire Department received ice and water rescue training with firefighters from the Lake Shore Fire Department in Monroe County, which is located at 1 Long Pond Road. Crews practiced several rescue methods utilized in cold-water emergencies while receiving training on Braddock Bay and Long Pond. The utilization of equipment and techniques for safely reaching victims who fall through ice were examined by firefighters.

Crews were able to work along the shore thanks to Westpoint Marina's training access. Additionally, officials advised locals to exercise caution near frozen waterways and cautioned them that ice conditions might swiftly weaken as temperatures increase.
